In Live Coding Sessions: Live Instruments, we extend the live coding setup beyond the laptop, introducing instruments such as drums and guitars.Rather than simply adding sound, these instruments become embedded in the performance. They interface with the live coding system, for example through machine learning, forming a shared system in which instrument, performer, and code continuously influence and amplify one another shaping the performance in unexpected ways.

What is Live Coding?

At Live Coding events, also known as Algoraves, music and visuals are coded live. The performers are coders who adjust rhythm, pitch and visuals in real-time by changing lines of their code and writing algorithmic compositions. By sharing their screens they invite the audience to read along and explore how each musical element and visual is crafted through code.
